What is Missouri First Steps?

Missouri First Steps is the state's early intervention program for infants and toddlers from birth to age three who have delayed development or a diagnosed condition associated with developmental disabilities.

It's governed by Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It's a voluntary program — families choose to participate — and the goal is to give families the tools and support they need to help their infants and toddlers thrive.

As a Missouri First Steps provider, your role is to bring skilled, relationship-based services directly into the family's natural environment.
