When I started early intervention, I was new & alone.
I remember feeling out of my depth, but ashamed and judged for asking questions. I remember how hard it was hard to break into the early intervention community as the new kid on the block. And - I remember asking for help, and hearing crickets in return.
I so badly wanted & needed mentorship. I would have been a better therapist with it, and families would have been better served. But even as I grew in confidence and experience, the landscape around me didn't change. New people came and went, in part I believe, because they didn't have the support they needed to be successful.
